I worked for an auto and wrecker service in a growing small town in Central Ohio. I had a great boss (GM) the owner though a complete asshole.
He paid a fair wage yet no overtime we were all Salary I made $750 a week but worked 65 hours. My hourly rate was $25 but was salary.
We were multi tasking multiple jobs. Being a truck dispatcher for semi loads as well as picking up accidents and dealing with assholes and DUIS from the impound lot.
On top of that we answered the phones and scheduled everything.
All while our owner would run one or two loads a week. Come into the shop berate and belittle the staff cuss them out have closed door conversations throw things and act like a 12 year old. Then go hop on his yacht and cheat on his kind and lovely wife and come home and everyone thought he was a hero. He is a joke I really wish his business would burn
He also charged illegal impound fees.
Well he fired me after almost 3 years and denied my unemployment as well as never paid me my last check.
I resumed another position with a great company a few weeks later.
It is horrible that people luck into or use people to become successful. It sucks bad people get to be good at fucking everyone around them and make the money off the backs of the great people.
