Hi everyone sorry for long post but here it goes:
My partner was offered a new position (transfer within same company to different department) and signed offer letter to start new position today 04/03
He goes into work today and the recruiter and his old boss reach out to him and tell him that his actual start date for the new position is 04/17 because he took these past two weeks off on parental leave and still needs to train people in his old position before he leaves. Mind you, this is the same boss that once told my partner “don’t worry about staffing, let me and management worry about that.”
It is very sketchy and it looks like his old boss is only doing this for retaliation for my partner taking his last two weeks off before starting the new position.
I told him to open an HR case since he has significant proof of his boss actively wanting to hold him back but I don’t know if that might affect him moving to the new position.
Does anyone have any advice for us? Thank you all!
