So if you don’t remember i’m from Illinois, I was in a car accident, missed three days of scheduled work. I told my manager of this because I was in the hospital. When I was back to work she calls me an hour before my shift and fires me over the phone for “no reason” as she said. I file for unemployment, I get denied because of misconduct because my manager is claiming I didn’t tell her anything or follow call off policy. I did tell her and I found coverage myself for my shifts. Now I need an unemployment lawyer and have to appeal the case. I worked at this job for three years and had just gotten a raise in April. I really liked the job and loved the people. I can’t believe she’s blocking me from unemployment after firing me after the worst week of my life from the car accident. Just wanted to vent, hope I win the unemployment case.
