I'm a (48f) , I spent 10 years of my life working for a tech company . I earned 65k a year , learned new hires were getting paid double what I was getting paid .
Bosses tell me that I can be replaced in a matter of seconds and my focus should be work and not my then 8 year old daughter.
So I quit , took out a loan and started a photography business . A passion of mine since childhood.
I took a chance and soon grew to making 150k a year photographing weddings , events , music festivals and promotional material for movies .
I'll be honest , shit doesn't always work out . It's gonna suck .
I wanted to quit as I was having to rely on food banks to feed my daughter which I felt awful for .
All I can say big companies can shove it and take a hike .
If you know your worth , don't settle for less
