Separating personal phone from work.

My job recently updated to Microsoft 365 so everyone could link their emails to their phone and check it from home. Nope. Not doing that. They told us there was no obligation to check our email from home. We won’t get paid for checking email from home. But, at work, in order to log into my email, I have to have a text message sent to my personal phone for a “third layer of security” and use the texted code to log in. According to IT there is no other option. I’ve tried finding a desk phone to have the code sent to, but they all ring through a central operator.
