seriously, why is it that…

…you can do fuck all at your work for, let's say, 5 hours in a 12-hour shift, spend the next 7 hours doing things, and you're considered such a hard worker and wow you put in so many hours at work… …but then at home you run around nonstop for 12 hours straight and you're considered soooooo lazy and get off your ass and go get a job already? i can tell you. capitalism and the patriarchy. but still fuck that. i'm a nurse. (well not quite nurse yet but am doing full shifts at clinicals for college credits and doing pretty much whatever a nurse can do.) i will tell you the fellow nurses and i run around more at work in a 12-hour shift than i do at home…but not by much. not by fucking much. yet in the first environment, i'm a “healthcare hero” and “so hardworking”…

yet in the first environment, i'm a “healthcare hero” and “so hardworking” and “so inspiring!!!” but in the second i'm a “lazy ass bitch” and “you should be grateful you even get to stay home” and “the real world is brutal and you'll never be prepared for it?”

fuck that.
