Same old story. I asked my company for our salary bands, which they made a big song and dance about being transparent. Found out I was being paid less than colleagues in the same role and kicked off. They offered me £5,000 more per year. I started looking around and just accepted a job that pays a further £7,000 a year. (My salary was £43,000, got it bumped to £48,000 and now it will be £55,000). When are employers going to accept that we WORK FOR MONEY?
I am not saying my salary was bad, but I work in a niche field within the finance industry and virtually no one wants my job. I can just imagine the screams when it gets around that I am leaving.
