Set schedules

I’m very lucky to have a set schedule where I know exactly what shifts/days I work every week. No surprises and easy to plan around. But what’s up with never being able to ask for a day off? I spent $400 on festival tickets before I even started this job and I’m not missing that to go make $250 during the work day. Doesn’t even cover the money I spent. Anyways I’m just ranting because like I said I’ve never had issues getting days off but I’m fighting a war just to get one single Saturday (I will forever be the only weekend technician) so screw rotation and fairness much less one day off.
