Shills gonna shill

I know Amazon's working conditions are beating a dead horse but this was posted to a local Facebook page and the shills came out of the woodwork with all the same tired bullshit: “MY job is harder and I have to deal with it” (crabs in a pot) and the wombo combo of “it's like this everywhere” and “if you don't like it work somewhere else” without a hint of realizing the contradiction. Meanwhile I'm sitting here like “unionize plz I'm begging you” I guess I just needed to vent here. Thanks for indulging me. Posting full text below for context. Amazon is not the great place to work that they would like you to believe.

I have talked to people who directly work at Amazon. Specifically the distribution center located in Mission Viejo California, referred to as DCX2.

These hard workers process, sort and load packages to be delivered.

Also, you should know I’m not referring to the delivery drivers. The drivers that you see coming to your doors don’t even work for Amazon. They are all 3rd party employees. However, the hard working people at DCX2 do get paid by Amazon.

As most of us shop more this time of year, naturally Amazon processes and ships out a much higher volume of packages as well.
In 2021 the Amazon employees were given a temporary $3/hour bonus during this “peak” season. It was much appreciated and set a precedence that was expected to repeat again this year. However, Amazon not only denied this bonus pay during this busy season, but they force the workers to work more hours.

Yes “force”. They force the employees to work “mandatory extra time”. This mandatory extra time is not voluntary. So regardless of the workers situation, whether it be other jobs, school schedules, or family obligations, Amazon doesn’t care. If the workers don’t work these extra hours they could end up being fired. The employees at DCX2 have not only been forced to work 10 hour days, they are also being forced to work 6 day work weeks. So the 40 hour week job they originally signed up for is now forcing them to work 60 hour weeks. Also keep in mind this a physical, always on your feet, job. They only get to sit during their short breaks. They are also constantly handing packages that weigh up to 50 pounds. Amazon has a hard time keeping workers in these positions because of these type of conditions however many people depend on, and need, these jobs. Amazon abuses their employees instead of appreciating them.

Tad McKinney is the manager in charge of the Mission Viejo location. It is said that he manages with fear and intimidation. Those that were willing to openly give their opinion of him say that he doesn’t really do much, other than take credit for the work that everyone else does. He is a manager that believes in “do as I say” instead of “do as I do”. He does not follow the rules that his team enforces on everyone else.
I’m not saying to stop using Amazon, none of this is your fault. But if you would like to help then copy this to your page so as many people as possible can learn this truth.

Amazon doesn’t care about and abuses their hardest working front line employees!
