I work for a facility that in order to get staff to pick up extra shifts they offer bonuses (on top of your base) these bonuses can range anywhere from $50-1000. The person who offers the bonuses is an assistant (idk who approves the amounts above them, but not my problem) she then sends the bonus amounts to our HR/payroll to be paid out on the following check. Our last check I worked a lot and combined just my bonuses amounted to $2500 (before taxes).
When we got paid I was only paid $1000 worth of bonuses (pre tax). I was livid. This is not the first time that my bonus amounts weren’t the right amount. Other people have this issue all the time with the bonus amounts not being on their check. If it was a few hundred I would have waited for the next paycheck for it and had the assistant fix it. But I was shorted $1500.
I spoke to HR/payroll and gave them the emails from the assistant showing how much she offered me and the dates. HR said they would confirm with her then cut me a check for the amounts owed.
I received a email from the assistant basically saying how they are going to get in trouble by the financial manager for the bonuses and now because I went to HR no one can get bonuses. I replied back saying that isn’t my fault and how anyone would be mad about being shorted money on their check.
It’s been about a month and they have not reached out to ask me to pick up any shifts, so I’m on someone’s shit list ha ha ha.
