So I work 40hr a week and have a decent schedule in which I get off early in the day but start really early too. I have an appointment coming up that is scheduled for 20 minutes before my shift ends. I asked my boss if I could simply work an extra 30 minutes the day before and leave 30 minutes early the day after to still get my 40 hours in. He said I should just take a half day which would use half a day of my 10 vacation days. I said I didn't want to do that and I don't wanna take a half day off for just 30 minutes of missed work. We got into a discussion about and he eventually caved and said don't expect this often. I feel guilty because I like my boss and I don't want to have negative relationship with him, especially if I can use him as a reference later when I eventually leave this place for a better paying job.
