Simply doing your job isn’t enough

I hate the fact that doing the job that you applied for isn’t enough to keep your job. At my job we’re basically forced to do “extracurriculars” to help out the company. AKA things that were never part of the job description or even remotely close to what I’m paid to do. If we don’t do things like helping out with recruiting, interviewing, help plan/set up special events, etc., it’s used against us when it comes to performance evaluations. What is this, high school with extracurriculars??
