Sisters pay was docked for entering call queue 2 mins late

My sister is a call center representative at one of America’s largest telecom companies. After clocking in at the beginning of your shift, you are allotted a 5 minute grace period to check your emails and load up any tools necessary to complete the job. So if your shift starts at 9, you clock in at 9, and you need to enter the call queue at 9:05 and begin taking calls. I used to work there and it takes longer than 5 minutes to check emails/load up tools, so most people arrive to work early and do this before clocking in. 3 days ago, my sister clocked in at her start time at 9, and instead of entering the call queue at 9:05, she did at 9:07. 3 days ago, my sister clocked in at her start time at 9, and instead of entering the call queue at 9:05, she did at 9:07. She was considered 7 minutes late, and did not receive pay for that 7 minutes. She brought this up to her supervisor and he said he cannot correct it as the loss of pay was intentional.

I find it ridiculous that this company would treat their employees this way. They are docking peoples pay even though they are clocked in and doing work related tasks, simply because they aren’t taking calls. Sorry if this is the wrong sub, but I needed to post it somewhere.
