So tired of it all

I used to live in Santa Rosa, CA, but moved to Sacramento for the cheaper housing. I used to work at a Costco in SR as a front end assistant and worker a few shifts in the food court, so when I was applying to jobs in the Sacramento area I applied to the Food Court in one of the Costco’s nearby. I got an interview and was hired FOR FOOD COURT. It says so on my time sheet, on my schedule, everywhere. I work the first two days and I’m loving it. I got an interview and was hired FOR FOOD COURT. It says so on my time sheet, on my schedule, everywhere.

I work the first two days and I’m loving it. I like retail but it’s exhausting being face to face with people all day, hence the reason why I applied for food court. Three out of the five shifts I’ve had IN THE FOOD COURT have involved me working at the check out for the majority of my shift. Yesterday I worked in the court for half an hour out of my SEVER HOUR SHIFT.

I’m pissed at this point. I’m scheduled in the food court, I’m expecting to be in the food court, and yet my supervisors are having me work everywhere but the food court. And the reason? There are too many hours in the food court apparently.

I don’t claim to know or understand the bureaucracy of how the department works, but if there are too many hours in the department, why the fuck are you having me come in? It’s not my fault you have too many people and choose to hire another one. Why do I have to conform to your fuck up?

I’m going in today and talking to a supervisor about it. I wasn’t told I’d be spending the majority of my time outside of the department I was hired in and that’s their fault. Not mine. And if I hear them spew the bullshit of putting the company’s needs ahead of my own I’m telling them that that means nothing to me. Here’s hoping I don’t have to go on another month long job search because managers in any business are garbage at their job!

TLDR: I keep being forced to work in departments I didn’t sign up for because the supervisor schedule too many people.
