said this to my manager when she was surprised I hadn't really tried any of the food at work yet (they only give us 60% off, no free meals). Told her I worked for the money so I'm absolutely not just giving $3 back to the company to eat their food. She responded with “I'd rather put my money back into the company that employs me than give it to our competitors” and I was just floored at that level of brainwashed. I wanted to ask her if she never eats out then? or never goes grocery shopping? How mindless do you need to be to think it's better to give the company that pays you some of that paycheck back in ANY form? why do you think you need to support a large thriving chain just because they employ you? This shit is just depressing
