I’m 23 moving to Colorado soon from Texas, and I was hoping to get a job I knew I had experience in already. I know Starbucks is shit and terrible company in general, but I needed a job. After getting an interview virtually, and having great convo, the interviewer said the compensation started at 15.50. For Colorado. I was taken aback because the range on the career site was 15.50 to 17.50. I figured 15.50 was for absolute beginners, but even then was low for CO. But I kept it together and finished the interview. Lucky for me that day I found out my friend in a much smaller much less financially growing town was getting paid $16… and she’s 17 yo. I was shocked. So I went back to the career site to look around at different locations in the area im moving to in CO. Literally 3 other stores within walking/biking distance of the store I had initially applied to were starting at 16.75.
So I emailed my interviewer and told him I’d be happy to accept a position at 16.75 and if he couldn’t help me out in that then I’d apply at the other locations.
No answer, blocked, and application to his store immediately removed and denied now I’m afraid he’s gonna black list me to the other stores. I hate Starbucks and jobs that think it’s okay to start you 3 dollars below the livable wage in their state. (CO is $18 livable).
