Starting to freak out.

I had originally thought my apartment lease was up in mid July, found my paperwork last night. June….12th. I have about 3 months to find myself and kids a new place to live. My credit is less than perfect, can afford to stay afloat, just not pay off old debt. I have a judgement from a broken lease (I left due to a robbery & landlord wouldn’t let me out of my lease) 6 1/2 years ago, that will fall off in September. Not soon enough. My landlord plans on raising the rent, it’s already too much. I won’t be able to afford it. Every rental within a 90 mile radius has outrageous requirements, seeing a lot of first, last, and security deposit required. Like who has that money? What happens if I don’t find something in time? Kids and I just sleep in the car? How does a 700+…

Kids and I just sleep in the car? How does a 700+ credit score and making 3x the (inflated) rent constitute to fair/equal housing opportunities. The average American makes 50k per year. That’s $1900 a month BEFORE tax. How is ANYONE surviving?
