Strike at the Fairmont Mirarmar, Santa Monica

So I work at the Fairmont Miramar in Santa Monica, and we’ve been on strike for the past month or so. Yesterday, things got heated with the strikers and security and things turned violent. In the video in the article you can see, among many other assaults, the Director of Security for the hotel yank our union organizer behind the picket line and arm lock him just for the police to tell them to let him go. Our contract was last negotiated in 2018! Our demands aren’t ludicrous, in fact some of the other hotels our union represents have already signed the contract. If anyone was looking to share some support for us on the picket line, share this article (or any of the dozen that have been published about this since yesterday) around social media and spread the word about how the Miramar treats its workers.

Also, the metric out management and ownership care about more than all others is our TripAdvisor scores. Feel free to spread the word about this on there, make sure to leave lots of reviews on what you think about it.

We just want a living wage, and this is what the owners of the Miramar think about that.
