Hi antiwork, first off I have read so many posts about the awful work experiences everyone has gone through, and I always wish you all the best.
PS Forgive my sentence structuring I do have very long sentences, just speaking what I’m thinking;
With that being said, I was thinking to myself (and I’m sure I’m not the only one) that with all the recent news blasted on the injustices of CEOs taking big paychecks while employees are the ones who make the businesses work take barely enough to keep by before being in serious trouble of being homeless one way or another.
As I see this problem continuing each day without us being able and organize and stand for ourselves, the more I become enraged with everyone, including myself, that we’re not collectively coming together to organize before we become so separated that we will all be living, if not already in a dystopian future where we will all be stripped of nearly all basic human rights and needs.
If todays news isn’t more telling, then we’re in deep trouble imo.
If I were to help organize a general strike, I would just pick a date and do it. And I’m aware that many can’t afford to loose their jobs. However if we just pick one day, come together, and support eachother, I believe that when we do, we’ll discover that we have community, that maybe we won’t need to go back to the tyrannical workplace when we truly realize that not only are we so valuable, but that we can collectively control the economy. And there is no denying we’ll suffer some, but most importantly the rich CEOs and alike will suffer greatly too.
If it were to happen, I would love to do this on my birthday, which is August 3rd. That would be a dream come true. But of course it could be too soon.
With all the best regards, if someone else leads a general strike, count me in.
