I’m new here. 25 male with 7 years of management experience and a superb eye for detail. Earlier this year I quit my job because the environment was unbelievable. I’ve never worked with people so incompetent, unprofessional, and who just did not care to do their jobs properly or with any level of authenticity or care. As you could assume, staff were treated like garbage as well (Here’s a 4 day work week with 10 hour shifts… enjoy Fridays being yours!…. JUST kidding… now it’s 5 days 10 hours… PLUS the usual overtime daily!).
So I’ve been looking for part time / full-time remote work. Half of the jobs I apply to are well below my pay grade (not trying to sound high and mighty, but I’m willing to take a major pay cut for my mental health right now), and they don’t even bother to reply when I apply to their posted job positions. Not only that, but on LinkedIn, Indeed, etc., for a lot of them, if you have to apply using another site (not the one you see the job posting on) when you click the link to apply, the job is “no longer available” on the external site. We shouldn’t have to play this game of snakes and ladders just to apply for a job.
For me, being someone who has hired many people, I find it disgusting that these employers can’t provide a clear cut and easy to navigate recruitment process. I see it as them showing their lack of care, before even bringing you in for an interview.
I think I’m honestly better off starting my own small business and never looking back. I think a lot of people feel the same way as me. The current job market just feels impossible. Is there even any advice or “hope”?
