A supervisor and I walked out at the same time. 9 hr shift. He was so happy. He asked how I enjoyed my day. I said it was okay. He said, “I'm so proud I was able to get everyone their 30 minute lunch today! It wasn't hard because we were over staffed and that was my only goal, but I did it!”
I looked at him confused and said “you definitely forgot one” he says “no. I got them all. I'm so great. I even got to send people home if they wanted because everyone had their break!” I say, “Sir, I can assure you that I did not have a break of any kind”
He became very upset with me and then said, “well, how was I supposed to know?” And I said “well, I reminded you twice and asked for a 15 twice. I was told they would happen later but….. checks watch, looks at him with serious face“
Supervisor walked away. I don't think he kept his gold star.
Pro tip: do not brag to employee about everyone gets a break to the one employee that did not get a break
(Yes, my company says everyone must have 30 minute break for lunch. It's a daily thing for supervisors to go around, fill your spot, and wait for your return. If you're 5-10 late, they don't even say anything. It's common to be stopped while going back to your station.)
Whyyy he needed to brag about a basic responsibility that is done daily, I'm not sure, but he said it to the wrong person. He looked so mad. I was just hungry.
