Literally this morning I got confirmation of this. My performance at my job has always been very good in my opinion and my directors opinion. A few minor critiques, I worked on but I always suspected my manager of lying about my overall performance. Always says I'm behind on team goals for example.
Turns out, a colleague of mine who is actually behind on goals was discussing it with me and even sent a screenshot of our teams numbers that his manager sent him. My manager told me I was behind and needed to catch up when I exceeded goal by over 20. I honestly laughed but now I'm also pretty pissed.
I can't confront my manager since my colleague received the screenshot and doesn't want to be involved. I understand that entirely. So between being lied to about my performance, company overpaying bonuses and making us pay them back, and of course layoffs…. I have an interview lined up with another company and I'm grateful I'm finding opportunities to leave.
