I've been working at a company in a warehouse setting for 18/hr for about 5 months now. I get offered to be the team lead today for a ridiculous offer of 19 an hour. They want me to run the whole operation when the supervisor is out and what not for vacation, etc. This includes opening and closing the warehouse, preparing all shipments for the 12 or so employees to pick, supervise the employees, complete paperwork when the shipments are picked (creating Bill of Ladings), general warehouse work, etc. I asked for $23/hr and I shit you not they acted like I was robbing them blind. They said I wouldn't find that pay anywhere else in the area and stood firm at 19/hr. I refused and now I have a meeting tomorrow with the general plant manager. The Human Resources lady accused me of just “being all about the money” which really offended me but I remained professional. I feel like this is more than a fair asking offer for Greensboro, NC area. Any advice on what I can say or do with my meeting tomorrow?
