Tech companies are laying people off to regain control over wages and force workers to return to the office while still making record profits

In the past several weeks, a number of big tech companies have been making layoffs numbering in the tens of thousands. They make sure that all the news outlets report on it. It appears as though they are trying to regain control over wages and force workers to return to the office. To them, the benfit of getting rid of the “dead weight” outweighs the cost of hiring and training new employees at much lower salaries than seasoned, highly-exoerienced workers.
