I have a friend that works in the tech industry that job hops about every 6 months. It seems to have worked out well for her and really increased her salary.
I just started a new job working for a local trade association 4 months ago. The same association at a national level just posted a job opening for a similar position to my current one. These positions don’t open up very often since most openings pop up due to retirements. Would it be a bad look to apply for the position? It’s part of the same association so it is likely my boss will find out should I just be upfront about the fact that I want to apply? The pay and benefits are better at the National level and my current association can’t match the pay due to budgetary restraints.
