8 years ago, I was fired from a workplace after flagging up safety concerns such as blocked fire exits, aggressive work culture and hierarchial barriers to communication. Three days after raising these issues I was sat down and let go.
Two weeks ago I happened to be in that area and walked past the exterior. Cardboard boxes were stacked across the outside of their fire exit and I realise that this sign likely indicated their total and continueing lack of care for staff welfare and public safety.
…thank god I got out.
