Couple of months ago I posted about a situation I was in where I was having my review overriden by a VP, and I was becoming the scape goat for everyone else daily. Additionally, the team was becoming progressively and provably overworked, and my team I served was being told they “weren't meetingnthroughput targets” because of the way that support tickets, our primary workflow, were counted.
Thanks to your assistance the following happened:
- My entire team, lead included, resigned or did not return from Leave.
- We since found out that all of our positions had been relisted for +$20k more than we were making. My lead got her job back with a nice pay increase, so congrats to her, and she got an internal offer to move to a less stressful team.
- Of the 5 people on the team I served as an Agilist, 3 have new positions, 1 is retiring and 1 is switching to a Student Visa instead of a Work Visa and won't return.
- The company is now unable to process DBA work or Hadoop work for the next three to six months.
Personally? I took a shot at a bunch of dream jobs in the games industry and now work from home for an indie game developer and am designing and developing my first title.
So thanks for the inspiration. I'm much happier and am finally in my career field.
