I don’t want to give away too much specific detail, but I work at a carwash. The site manager, who is responsible for all hiring/firing, maintenance, scheduling, ordering, everything, etc. is so underpaid that even with his wife working, they don’t have enough money for them and their one child, house payment, and other bills and necessities. They basically have to pick something to just not pay for every month. He’s eating $1 meals from the dollar store twice a day. This is a person who before this job had plenty of experience managing too. It’s not like he’s fresh out of high school and just works hard.
