The physics definition of work is the transfer of energy from one object to another. Positive work is the transfer of energy from one object to another resulting in an increase in potential of an object. Negative work is the transfer of energy from one object to another resulting in a decrease in potential from an object.
People work every day if their lives shifting energy from one thing to another, its unavoidable and it's a part of continued existence, this is normally balanced by nature, meaning you spend energy looking for things to build your store of potential energy, to expend to continue to exist.
In reference to employment. The employer wants a task to be completed, meaning that they need their workers to transfer their potential energy to their employer. In return the employer is supposed to compensate their employee's loss of potential energy with payment that at minimum negates the loss of potential.
Work doesn't mean break your back to serve 10,000 customers a year in 2023 because “Grandpappy” did it when he only had to serve 500 customers a year in 1950.
Work in terms of employment is supposed to allow individuals the ability to trade a common currency for food and necessary supplies for continued existence, allowing people to do what they want. In that sense work is a benefit to mankind.
The point of anti-work isnt to stop people from being able to generate positive potential energy. The purpose of anti-work is to stop the rich from sucking dry the potential of the less fortunate, and allowing people an opprotunity to express their free will.
