Hello again! I have posted twice before about my work and pregnancy discrimination.
Good news, I delivered a healthy baby boy exactly a week ago! Yay!
If only it was that exciting for my work. I was notified that I have to reapply for my job when I am cleared for work, which was never told to me after many attempts to reach out to my HR. I told both HR via email and my supervisor through text my leave plans, provided a doctor note excusing me from work to begin my leave, and got the okay from my supervisor. Even after he spoke to HR I was told my plans were okay and valid.
Just to come to find out they apparently go against “policy” which is not in the handbook.
So I technically was terminated for needing to take a disability leave of absence for the birth of my baby. (Which I know is illegal from the pregnancy discrimination act, as I have to be provided the same leave an employee would have for a car accident or illness).
I have it in writing that I did not willfully quit and will assume I am still employed until I get notification stating otherwise.
Now the hunt for a lawyer and also where to report them begins. Oh and my work never even sent me a card
