This happened in the spring of 2022. I will never forget this moment. I was working at a retail store as a cashier and was helping two of my co-workers check out. I was innocently joking with them as I am very close to them. A store coordinator was also cashiering next to me. They heard me joking and got upset out of nowhere. They threatened to send me to the office to “sit down.” I couldn’t believe what I just heard. Me, a 20-year-old man, was threatened to put in timeout like I’m 7. I told the main manager about the situation and of course they did nothing. I quit shortly after because I couldn’t handle it anymore.
