So just for a little background information I am a 21-year-old in the state of Iowa working as a certified dealership tech who went through two years of education to get where I'm at, and for my age I would like to think I'm very knowledgeable in my field. I work in a dealership specifically a Honda dealership, and I'm consistently between 55 and 65 hours of work a week, and I'm not totally against that I know that's more than most people can and should do but I enjoy my work for the most part, and I'm thankful that I do. But recently at work it's at least one time a day if not four or five that I hear some remark about how I dont work enough, I tell them how many hours I've been working recently, it's usually followed by a laugh and a “when I was your age I used to work 175 hours a week” I don't get how these people are proud of just how abused they were growing up, and don't see that as motivation enough to fight for a younger generation, it blows my mind how many people will fight directly against their own self-interest even when it's staring them in the face.
