Not getting out soon enough if you happen to like a role/firm, but just not the manager is a big mistake! I gave 5 years of my time, always worked during a PTO if required to and put up with micromanagement from my supervisor chalking it up as his “leadership” style, and went along with it. I stopped asking for a raise when my manager insisted I'm being paid fairly and can't do any better. Things took a turn when I started voicing out my opinions more that were in disagreement with my manager, he started undermining my credibility and spreading false rumors. I wasted 5 years of my life here, hoping to be recognized and given a promotion/raise and now dealing with such bs from someone I tried my best to work for. Whoever is reading this and relates, take this as your sign: make efforts to leave this job ASAP. No matter what you're being told, you are worth more than they pay you! Doesn't matter what you do, in the end you're putting yourself at risk working for someone who dislikes you, things will not get better!
