This sub makes me scared of America

I’m a Dutch guy with astma and a back disc hernia atm waiting for surgery. I always loved America, I have family and friends living in the west coast and I try to visit as often as I can. I’m in love with San Diego and always wanted to try to immigrate and live and work there. Until I followed this and multiple subreddits about the working and living conditions of Americans. Both times I’m unable to work for more than 4 hours and being a total of 14 months in sick leave that have been paid in full by my employer. The surgery that I’m getting is not crippling me financially, it’s only costing me about 350 euros for the whole half year of MRI scans and everything. I feel taken care of and when I read the headlines and stories you guys post about working conditions in America it just makes me sad

You’re not animals and they should treat and pay you like the respectable human beings that you are. This counts for all the other countries that are terrible too. It’s weird to think that I’m in a bit of a luxury position even though my situation should be the norm.

It makes me sad and also angry. You deserve better and should always fight for the rights you deserve.
