Two of my coworkers died and they’ve already been replaced

I work in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles where things are, in lack of better terms, terrible at the moment due to the strikes. The majority of people are out of work and those of us who are working (such as my company) are getting fewer workloads as the days go by, but tighter deadlines, no mistakes can be made, etc. It’s been rough. Last week HR sent a mass email out to everyone that two of my coworkers, who I had spoken to a few days prior, had passed away unexpectedly. They offered us grief counseling for the day but basically said to get back to work. I was and am devastated. I didn’t know either of them that well, only communicating via emails, but they were always kind to me and to go from constantly emailing them to not hearing anything at all has broken my heart.…

Today while sending emails I received a notification that they had replaced both of them and to send any other emails to the new hires. It’s been a week. I’m disgusted and disappointed but not surprised. It’s hard for me to process. I hope they’re resting peacefully.
