Ugh, just got a text from my boss to come see her before I report to work…

Mod, please delete if not allowed. Background: So I work second shift (3:00 pm to 11:30 pm) in an Autism Crisis Stabilization Unit for 10 to 14 year olds who are autistic and have trauma histories (it’s fully funded by my state government) (we use trauma informed therapy by the way if anyone is wondering). I also have disabilities myself that I was diagnosed with at age 4(ADHD, Sensory Processing Disorder, Auditory Processing Disorder, Dyspraxia, and Speech Language Disorder) and because of them, I really struggle with my people skills and social skills. So for instance, I’ll impulsively say stuff that I later on regret saying and I struggle with picking up on body language and facial cues (I’m practically blind to them). Also, I am open with my coworkers and supervisors about my disabilities because I hate hiding my disabilities (I’ve done this at other jobs) and they have…

So for instance, I’ll impulsively say stuff that I later on regret saying and I struggle with picking up on body language and facial cues (I’m practically blind to them). Also, I am open with my coworkers and supervisors about my disabilities because I hate hiding my disabilities (I’ve done this at other jobs) and they have all been really great with me (the lady is who shift lead for my shift is very accommodating (which I’ve never had before at previous jobs) which is super nice)). As a disabled person, I’ve noticed my life that the people I want in my life are the ones who know about my disabilities and who don’t treat me any differently. I just really want to keep this job for as long as possible because it’s the best fit for me (and because I need to work to live. ) and I don’t want to f**k that up.

So like I said, my boss just texted me about seeing her before I report to the unit (the unit is what we call the main area where the kids stay while with us) and my anxiety just shot up because she didn’t give a reason. Can someone give me a way to politely ask her why she wants to see me? That would be really helpful.

Update: Anxiety went through the roof for literally nothing as my boss just wanted to check in with me and to see how I was doing (she hired me last November and I started working the start of January. So I am a new employee to her.). Gotta love that anxiety sometimes. Lol.
