I started working for this start up, cloud based accounting firm about a year and a half ago as a client account manager for some pretty sizable companies. Our company went through rough transitions over the past year and its employees have had a high turnover rate due to stressful conditions and a chaotic work environment. I have been one of three who have stayed since the beginning after one employee quit last week. I have managed many clients and employees and have had a significant part in the improvement of the company.
But today I had my performance review where they told me the board of directors wants to restructure ou company again and my position is being eliminated. I was then told that my supervisors would like me to be in this new role that is being created at a much smaller scale but it would require an $18K/year pay cut. I am absolutely devastated, I cannot afford that pay cut, my wife and I are already stuck living with our in laws because we can't find housing that will accept us. We are already struggling and I put so much of myself into that company… its just so infuriating I don't know what to do other than immediately apply for other jobs which is getting more and more difficult by the day… ugh 🙁
