Why make laws against overtime when employers are going to use veiled threats and false motives for why they want you in early, because they know people are desperate for a job and you can be replaced?
If I start at 7, that includes dressing up in whatever outfit and setting up my workplace. I ain't doing an extra 8 hours a month of unpaid work just so you can have me 20min early every day.
And it's also the dumbest shit enforced by boomer ass employees too. Talking bad behind your back if you get to work 5min til' it starts… Like why? Why do you get to work 45min early? It's not my fault you have nothing going on in your life…
That and STAYING overtime. Especially when a dr. in my firm wants to hold useless, uninteresting presentations. I raised my hand and asked if I had to stay past 3pm since this lecture had nothing to do with me. I got a mean look and scolded for rejecting “free education”. Lady, IDGAF ABOUT YOUR BORING ASS JOB I DON'T WANNA BE BORED TOO!
