After 15 years of receiving above and beyond exceeded work expectations, I received below average performance review this year. I did not change the way I work, underperform not overperform. Same performance as previous years.
Our company is not doing well and cutting costs is happening. I do have a coworker who is extra friendly with a manager and has past history of throwing people under the bus. My manager’s decision making is majorly based on her opinion.
Her husband also works part time here. Is she trying to throw me under the bus in lieu of saving her husband’s job security?
I can’t speak to my manager about this since she and her are besties and my manager will deny everything to protect her .
Going to HR is useless, they will protect themselves and be in liaison with the manager. They will twist things around in their favor. Am I on my way out? It seems like it. What do you think and what should I do?
