So… I work as a freelance designer, and currently, I'm working with an event. I have been working toward this event for the last 4 months or so, and the event is going to be abroad so I have to travel with some prints. I have been working for MONTHS so please tell me why now, a week and a half away from the actual flight, are they still nitpicking the designs I told them needed to be sent for printing a month ago? I have a feeling they are leaving things last minute, and then they are going to blame me if they are not done by the time I have to leave.
This feels like those stupid group projects for school, and not the actual professional environment it should be. The printing place takes 5 days to send me pricing quotes, then the team asks for a slight change in the number of prints or a change in small details, so I have to wait another week for a new quote… There is no time left, and I just had to put my foot down so they would finally send the final revisions today. I just hope this place doesn't wait ANOTHER WEEK to send a new quote because this needs to be done early next week. Why do I have to put my foot down with my direct superiors?
I hate working as an adult with people that have no problem throwing you to the sharks for their mistakes. I just want to roll up, cry, and not work ever again.
I just needed to complain somewhere and thought maybe here would be appropriate, from the stories I have read here. Please go easy on me, this situation caught me in a major depressive episode and it is taking all my energy and time. Just, I need some tips regarding my mental health while I work, because the job market I'm experiencing is not made for humans with actual emotions.
