Frustrated with potential micromanagement

Left work earlier than scheduled today because I had permission from my manager. Things were slow, I had come in like 30 minutes early, and asked at least three times that it was okay that I was leaving early. Both my manager and another coworker left early as well (very slow day) and there were still 3 people on the clock in my department when I left. They knew I was leaving. It was not busy and there was not an overwhelming amount of work to do (there was some but there’s three people there, they can handle it). Store director calls me about 20 minutes after I leave and asks where I am and that I’m scheduled until 4:30. I didn’t answer just listened to the voice message. He’s not the one that gives me permission to leave early unless my direct manager isn’t there. My manager got permission…
