Warning on Permanent WFH Policy

My company committed to a full time remote policy. People moved farther away since the rent where the office is located is ridiculous. Employees sold cars, bought office equipment, had kids or took them out of daycare (which has a huge waitlist in our area), ect. Now the CEO sends us a email Thursday morning, without any prior warning or any sort of indication this was going to happen) saying in 3 months we are switching to flex and being forced to be in the office 3 days a week. Stating the reason is collaboration even though when we were in the office we all just sat at our cubicles on the computer and barely spoke to each other and when we did it wasn’t about work.
