Was hired about three weeks ago at a restaurant. They told me to study for a orientation test and come back in a week. Week passes I pass the test and I bring what I thought to be two forms of I.D but one did not work so I had to get a new social security card (the original was misplaced). They said no biggie. Finally yesterday it comes and I call and they say they moved forward with someone else and will call me if a slot opens up. Now I signed a lot of papers and did some certifications online and got shirts and pants for the job. Is there anything I can do cause lowkey I feel what they did is messed up. They knew I just moved here. They couldn’t have called and let me know that the job is not there? I also need to call back for my pay cause the papers I have say that I should get paid for the time spent on the certifications and I should get paid for my time spent on orientation which they had me do on the days which I was busy with school so I missed two classes for them just so they could let me go.
