Institutions are failing us and we are so used to “fine” that we don’t expect better. The government was just supposed to be us, we the people. We have been forced out and now nothing works.
In biology it is understood that organisms have evolved to thrive in a niche. Thrive is an important word. Homeostasis is another important word. What we have forgotten or were never taught was that they are synonymous. Thriving is healthy because it means you have more energy than you need to survive. You need that extra energy to adapt to change and pass on your genes. This means just getting by is a sign of illness.
Knowing that, why do we put up with just survival? When a parasite finds a host it takes from the host without giving back. It can be a slow process in which the host slowly is drained until there is nothing left. Something that acts like a parasite is a cancer. Cancer occurs when there is an unregulated division of abnormal cells in a part of a body. Corporations are cancerous entities in society. They steal resources by hijacking the our own infrastructure and pool of labor for their own needs without any consideration for the greater good. They justify low wages by complaining of competition from other cancers/corporations.
Where is our immune system? Where are the doctors who can treat these cancers?
During the Uvalde school shooting the police did nothing. Legal experts say the police are actually not liable here. So then what the fuck is the point of the police? Why did we all think that they were going to save those children and teachers? Because we were all fed a bunch of lies about the world we live in.
The most important concept we were all deprived of learning about is power. We were taught about good and bad but not power. The two party system is an illusion to keep us from seeing that there is another axis to the machine. That axis is of capital and labor. Where these axes converge is the government. It is where our representatives write laws that govern how we function as a society.
These cancerous corporations have infected our governing bodies so that the laws are written to help it grow at the expense of humanity. This is analogous to how cancers hijack a cell’s DNA to turn off genes that are supposed to protect us. When the laws are written by the powerful, law enforcement becomes a tool of oppression. We are not equal under the law if we are not represented in the government.
The next time a politician, who is a member of either party, asks you to vote for them and donate to them, remember that they have a master already. I am not voting blue anymore. I am not voting for a republican either.
We live in a country where:
– We have to mortgage our future to have a future
– Can go bankrupt once we have a serious medical issue
– The minimum wage wouldn’t support even one human being
– The police are unaccountable and are often the villains
– We imprison more people then we have enslaved in the past and many for nonviolent medical issues
– There is a shortage of baby formula while the SCOTUS wants to make abortion illegal
– The news media is just a propaganda arm for corporations and defense contractors
– Our ability to vote is insecure
– Our military is one of the largest polluters in the world
– the list goes on…
Its not an accident that 67.8% of Fortune 500 corporations are registered in Delaware and that is the state where our President is from. Who the fuck wakes up and thinks about Delaware? No one. Which is why the corporations/cancer won. The malignant cancer has taken over. The greatest irony is how all these corporations support cancer research charities while making sure we don’t have affordable healthcare.
The next time anyone tries to tell you incrementalism is the way to go just know they were infected by the cancer. People pay lip service to “values” until its inconvenient. What I have learned about trust is that its gained when someone or something is consistent even when its inconvenient. There really isn’t any institution left to trust that I can think of.
There are people I trust. We need to start demanding more and making our support conditional to results the same way the rich do.
