I'm just going to ask you guys what you think about this out of curiosity as it's not a big problem for me but I'm baffled.
A bit of context: we run some short trips for tourists on a small crew. Recently a big company took over but they just do the paper work and leave everything to our manager and us.
We have really good working conditions and a very good relationship. Our manager is very kind and never fails to meet our requests, but he is way too laid back. This means that occasionally he forgets to inform us about some things like maybe an extra trip to a new location that would need some testing and preparation or other minor things.
This also puts extra work on our partner that makes the bookings that ends up having to micromanage some of his tasks and work closer with the crew just because he doesn't pay enough attention, and he has been asking us to make this known to the upper management.
So after last episode we as crew wrote a very polite email to explain that some things need to be addressed and that there is a lack of communication that cause us problems.
Oh boy he was furious. He just basically answered to bring all of this to our manager (which is the issue we wanted to bring up in the first place) and not to talk behind his back and that if things are not clear it's our partner's fault (while their role should simply be to make the bookings).
My impression is simply that he doesn't give a shit about our business and doesn't want to get involved in the slightest.
So it's ok for me i don't care so much, i was just trying to help our partner that is basically running the company in their steads without even being paid for all the extra he does and it will be up to him to decide if he wants to keep booking for us or find someone else.
But I'm REALLY surprised at the tone of the email i got back as we really did our best to write it as politely and not-accusatory as possible
