What are the main factors causing the abhorrent and ridiculous job market in the US in your opinion?

Mainly: why is it so hard to get a job nowadays, even with plenty of relevant experience? I read posts from people with a similar situation to mine basically every day. It seems it is extremely difficult, in the US at least, to get a “good” or high paying job nowadays. I always see posts from others on this sub with bachelors and masters degrees struggling to be hired. Myself, I don’t have a degree, but have applied to ~75 job postings where my 3 years of experience would be relevant. I always provide my resume, and sometimes cover letters. I have only had 1 phone call in the last 2+ months, which ended with the recruiter ghosting me. So what gives?
