Sorry if this is the wrong place for this. My philosophy has been that I try to pay the debt I owe a creditor but that if a third party comes along and “buys” my debt then what they did was generously pay off my debt and I owe them nothing. The debt agreement wasn't between me and them it was between me and the party they just paid off. Thoughts?
