Did it happen over night? Why does every job I apply for have 10 hour days? Some of them starting at 5:30 am! They act like it’s normal. Can I please work a normal 8 hour shift and not be a slave? I enjoy things like having hobbies outside of work. And of course the 10 hour day often bleeds into a 11-12 hour very often. My boss sat me down and asked “How can we improve our work quality?” And I replied “Well we lost a lot of good hard working guys recently, they got burned out. And you force us to work in ice and snow storms so we cannot do our job during that.” And his response was “Yeah I’m not worried about that. And yeah some guys are just not cut out for this job.” Keep in mind the guys were extremely talented and hard workers, ex military guys, one of them a marine, but yeah, they were “not cut out” for this.
