Had a morning meeting with the whole crew, boss, and our boss's boss. They started saying how disappointed and sad they are at how they hear us employees are complaining about our salary.
They reminded us that they do so much when it comes to our PTO, yearly bonus, referral program, and more.
In my head, I think to myself how if you didn't offer those things, I wouldn't be working here. I'd find a job that would have it. But I'm still working here. I'm still contributing and making this place run well.
Is me asking HR my positions pay rate is in “bad taste”? Me telling everyone what I make per hour to current and new employees is inappropriate and shouldn't be done?
Then I think, is this a violation to labor laws about discussing pay? I know there's been a situation before with one of my coworkers and he made sure to get it all in writing and when he spoke to hr about it, he got a very quick phone call from them to “check in” and see if everything is ok.. *cough *cough *don't sue *cough *cough.
I don't know what to do. Look for a new job? Wait it out to see what happens? Am I jumping to conclusions too fast?
This happened at my last job and I feel like it's going to keep happening everywhere I go.
