I know many positions are obligated to be present the whole shift based on the type of work but there are lots of jobs where someone finishes their tasks for the day but have to just sit there and wait out the clock for several hours. It seems very counter productive, I feel it would actually improve productivity since most people don’t want to just sit out the clock. I personally worked with many people who are super lazy all day because they are stuck there until end of day anyway so no reason to be productive when they can procrastinate on their phones for half the day. Just something that came to mind and wanted to see what others think.
